The 33th edition of the concrete canoe competition shall be the first edition that is taking place in the old canal system in the city centre of Utrecht. The participants will battle against each other in front of many spectators. The participants will compete with an own build canoe made off a century old building material which happens to be concrete.

The program starts on Friday. The participants are being expected during the afternoon. After the arrival a firm en strict jury will judge every canoe and check if they satisfy the rules and regulations for a concrete canoe. In the evening a review is arranged and all the canoes will sail through the old canal systems in the city centre. The review will end in a big party in one of the wharfs along the old canals in Utrecht.

On Saturday morning it is time for breakfast and afterwards the first qualifying rounds will be held in the Catherijnesingel nearby the city centre and the canals. Because everyone will fight the ultimate battle against each other in a real crowded place with many spectators. Therefore we have shifted the finals to the evening through the old canal system that runs through the heart of the city. So that every competitor can feel like a real gladiator.

After the finals there is the possibility to stay over for the night so that you can relax after a nice weekend and go back home on Sunday morning.
